Baku Boulevard is a promenade that was constructed in 1909. The park began as a horticultural program, which included the planting of trees and shrubs. It was then expanded in order to provide a recreational area for the growing city.
SOCAR Tower is the tallest building in the Caucasus region and is the Headquarters of the oil company. SOCAR is an acronym for the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic. The company started building this tower in 2010 and completed it in 2016. It has two intertwined towers which curve around each other. It has 42 floors. This building is designed by a South Korean firm on the concept of wind and fire. The tower mainly comprises office space, but it also houses conference and sports facilities. The BMU is equipped with double telescopic mast, 17 meter in height, a 37 meter long jib, with four telescopic sections and a pantograph of 12m and with an auxiliary hoist of 350 kg for panel replacement. Is one of the largest BMU in the world.
The Maiden Tower of Baku was built in the cylindrical form on the giant rock inclined towards the coast of the Caspian Sea. An oblong support (buttress) is attached to it from the seaside. The height of the tower on the northern part is 31 m, on the south- 28 m. The diameter of the tower on the first floor is 16.5 m. The thickness (width) of the wall on the first floor is up to 5 m. The interior part of the tower is divided into 8 floors. Each floor is covered with the arched ceiling made of cut stone. There are round holes in the middle of the stone ceilings. The holes are vertical. Thus when you look through the round holes in the middle of the 8 storey ceiling you can see the floor of the first storey. The single entrance to the tower is the arched doorway in its western part 2 m in height and 1.10 m in width. The height of the first floor of the tower is 3 m, the average height of the other floors is 2.5 m.
Baku Metro, is an electrified metro railway system which is a part of the public transportation system of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It was opened on 6 November 1967. Number of lines - 3, number of stations - 27.
